The Iberostar Paraiso Maya is a fantastic family resort. The a la carte restaurants will accept you on a standby basis if they have availability. For a 3-4 night stay, you receive 1 reservation. For a 5-6 night stay, you receive 2 reservations. For a 7 night stay, you receive 3 reservations. There are restrictions on the number of reservations you receive. Guests of the Beach and Mar can make advance reservations in the lobby at guest services. Specialties include: Brazilian, Mediterranean, Mexican, Japanese Teppanaki, Steakhouse, Tropical, Gourmet (Intl), and 2 buffets. Iberostar Paraiso Mar and Paraiso Beach have 9 restaurants between the two parallel resorts. Lindo guests may eat at the Seafood, steakhouse, and the Tex-Mex restaurant at the Maya, but not the Japanese teppanaki or the French. Reservations can be made in advance for the entire stay at the concierge located in every building. Unlimited reservations are included at any of the Lindo, Mar, and Beach resorts. Iberostar Paraiso Lindo has 5 restaurants: Italian, Oriental, Buffet, Gourmet (Intl), and Cajun. Unlimited reservations are available at any resort. The resort is very active and there were lots of people on the beach. The main difference between the two is a few dining options and that all of the rooms at the Maya are junior suites.
The Iberstar Paraiso Maya is parallel to the Paraiso Lindo and they share the same common areas (pool). There is a fully supervised kids club, which is open 10AM-5PM for kids ages 4-12 years old (private babysitters available for $10 per hour for 1-2 kids). Other items and amenities, including taxes and gratuities, and access to recreational activities and entertainment may also be included. Room rates include meals and beverages at onsite restaurants and bars. It is huge, and it has a large wave pool (open 11AM-5PM). The resort has a very nice beach with white sand, turquois water and walkable. There is a disco open from 11PM- 3AM for adults and a teen disco open 1030PM to 1AM.
